About This Event
The pRESPECT Hub CIC will be hosting an event as part of a documentary aimed at investigating the experiences and concerns of individuals from African and Caribbean communities in Scotland.
Statistics found by Public Health Scotland indicate that the uptake of COVID-19 vaccinations in African, Caribbean and Black communities are very low compared to other ethnic minority groups in Scotland.
In response to this, a research study was carried out by the College Of Social Science (University of Glasgow) addressing the concerns and curiosities of individuals from these communities and to raise public awareness and understanding of the science & data of the COVID-19 vaccines.
What Will Happen At This Event?
We are looking for 25 volunteers who are from 𝘼𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣, 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 to participate in our 2-hour workshop which will involve:
- A reflective dialogue in small groups
- Conversational topics on COVID-19: Individual’s experience and perception, concerns & curiosities, needs & priorities and the way forward for vaccine engagement in Scotland
- A Q&A session with an official from Public Health Scotland
- An audience survey
This is an informal and in-person event which will take place at our pRESPECT Hub and will be filmed for use in a documentary.
