About the Role
To run online and in-person training programs leading to group workshops, one to one coaching, proactive employment preparation, employer engagement, wellbeing and networking events. Our process fuses our expertise in Acting, Public Communication, Wellbeing and Digital Technology.
To continue developing and delivering our service across Scotland and especially within the Edinburgh, Lothians & Glasgow areas.
Use stages 2 - 5 of Edinburgh’s Strategic Skills Pipeline and Joined Up For Jobs Strategy as a template.
As a flexible and skilled communicator you will deliver meaningful support to people accessing our services.
Whether working with individuals or with groups you will support people to overcome barriers, both internal and external, strengthen their existing skills and identify and build new skills.
Utilising coaching approaches you will help people build momentum in self-management and personal resilience.
The post will involve some travel across various locations so a full driving licence and access to your own transport is an advantage but not a strict requirement.
To have a creative approach to engaging with participants.
To be responsible for a caseload of participants, providing a support role and addressing their needs based upon their individual action plans.
To work with participants on a one to one or group basis as appropriate.
To maintain regular contact with participants on their caseload to offer advice and guidance where needed.
To interview participants to gain information and ascertain their requirements.
To motivate, encourage and support participants to move towards employment and career growth and tailor a package of support to meet their individual needs.
To deliver employability and soft skills including confidence and motivation, CV writing, interview techniques, skill checks, digital skills and job search.
To maintain participant records in line with the company’s standards.
To act as an appropriate role model and deliver a range of actions to motivate and empower participants and to facilitate their growth in confidence, raise aspirations and to assist in the realisation and achievement of their potential.
To assist participants to plan and progress, in line with their action plans, towards improving their life and employment chances.
To be responsible for ensuring all Key Performance Indicators are consistently achieved.
To meet deadlines and targets as required by the needs of the programme.
To accurately maintain relevant IT and administrative systems and produce accurate and timely management information.
Proactively improve the company's administrative systems where appropriate or necessary
Undertake other such duties as requested which are reasonable and appropriate to the role.

Experience of offering a high standard of customer service
Experience of providing advice and guidance to others with the aim of career progression
Experience of liaising with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Experience of delivering support on confidence & motivation and CV writing

Experience of working with unemployed people to improve their employment prospects
Experience of completing face to face interview and completing personal action plans
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all level of an organisation with tact and diplomacy
Ability to complete paperwork in line with contractual requirements where appropriate
Ability to audit and monitor electronic records
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to multiple deadlines
An excellent standard of verbal communication
The ability to work with trust and autonomy
To display strong motivational, customer service, creativity and organisational skills
To be competent in the use of technology with excellent IT skills (Incl Spreadsheets)
