As we close for the year, we want to thank you all for being a part of our community.
2021 has seen pRESPECT launch a new community interest company, welcome new staff and new participants to our community, and win awards that will give us the exposure we need to continue contributing to the broader community.
Here are some highlights of the year 2021
We were excited to welcome our beneficiaries, funders and partners to 'officially' bring a new hub on Ferry Road. Our Creative Director decorated and furnished the whole place with the help of interior designer Gigi Rosado. We wanted to provide a welcoming space where people felt motivated to reach their full potential in a supportive and creative environment. Whenever there's a meeting in the hub, it's a joy to see the smile on people's faces as they walk through the doors. We hope to see that smile on your faces in the new year.

We are super excited to inform you that our CEO, Viana Maya won the 2021 Institute of Directors - Scotland, Director of The Year Award for Innovation.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our CEO on winning the Director of the Year Award. Since 2019, Viana has been committed to building a supportive, motivated and inclusive community to offer personalised career support for people from ethnic minority backgrounds, those who are underrepresented or those from low-income families. Her perseverance and dedication have driven pRESPECT to where it is today. This award empowers and encourages us to work harder towards our missions and goals and serves as a reminder for us to believe in what we're doing and celebrate our achievements and hard work. Moving forward, New Staff, Goal setting and 2022 program
Theory of Change Workshop
The team at JEZREEL Consultancy came into the hub to deliver a powerful workshop, 'Theory of Change'. We wanted to end the year strong and with a clear focus and intention for the New Year. We booked a session with Dr Thelma Okey-Adibe (PhD) to understand better the Theory of change within pRESPECT. It was an energetic, creative, empowering and engaging session. It will help us share our impact and contribute to the broader social and business environment in Scotland. We look forward to more sessions like this. Next time we will invite you too. It was great to see, hear and understand what our employees, beneficiaries, and board know about the Hub, and share their ideas on what more we can do in the new year and beyond to empower our communities.
Festive Reflect & Recharge Celebration
To close the year with a recharging mindset, we held a private Festive Reflect & Recharge Celebration session that brought together our beneficiaries to celebrate all their big or small wins to mark the year's end.
Unfortunately, we had to quickly move the session online due to recommended guidelines. The session included practical techniques and activities to reflect, recharge, set new goals and celebrate the coming new year, including how to create a vision board for the year to keep you focused. We all celebrated our wins, big and small, owned our decisions, the good, the bad and the ugly, and we are now ready to move forward with purpose and intentions. Some of us even created vision boards during the session! We will rerun this session in the new year.
Welcome our New Team Member
We are very excited to welcome Olumide Fadeyibi to our team as the Community and Participant Engagement Coordinator. Olumide is a Scotland-based producer, director, and content creator making Films and TV bringing authentic, relatable stories to screen whilst also addressing under and mis-representation of our diverse community.
We welcome him to the team, and we can't wait for you to meet and work with Olumide.
